Adaptive and Emerging Technologies @ Iowa City Senior Center

Jane Gay is a long-time staff member at the Center for Disabilities and Development at the University of Iowa. She will demonstrate a large number of adaptive and emerging technologies to help keep people safely in their homes and answer questions about these technologies. These include everything from assistive devices, such as new kinds of telephones and can openers adapted for use by older people and those with disabilities, to devices that can make high-risk areas for falls like bathrooms and kitchens safer. An impressive number of adaptive technologies are being developed nearly every year that make staying at home more possible.
