Iowa City Community Theatre, Dreamwell Theatre, Run of the Mill Theatre Productions, Willow Creek Theatre Company, and Riverside Theatre are teaming up to honor this oft featured piece of furniture, inspired by an idea by community theater member, Kristina Rutkowski.

If you’ve seen any productions in the Iowa City area over the past twenty years or so, then it’s likely you’ve seen the pinkish Chaise Lounge appearing amongst the set pieces. This year, each play will incorporate the Chaise Lounge in some way.

On Friday evening, March 24, writers are assigned random prompts, and a prop that must used in their scripts which are due 8 am the next day. The next day, directors and actors rehearse, the stage manager and tech crew set the stage, and our MC prepares her introductions; everyone collaborates to create mini-masterpieces within 24 hours!

On Saturday evening, March 25, these 6 brand new, short, works will be showcased at the Iowa City Community Theatre, home of the famous, Chaise Lounge.
