Art in the Afternoon is designed to offer local artists a platform to give presentations about their crafts and technique. Jo Myers-Walker coached us to paint watercolor birds, Mary Merkel-Hess gave us a glimpse into her paper works, Megan Bishop immersed us in the world of the Oaknoll Artists, and Sharon Beckman taught us how to create stories in collage. We’ve learned about cartooning, metalworking, watercolors, pastels, ceramics, and even furniture design. This fall, Art in the Afternoon continues with a new series of local artist presentations. Iowa City is the home to a wide variety of artists. Join us each month to hear about who they are and what they are doing.
Registration is not required and it is open to all ages!
