MY BODY is MY OWN: A public art installation @ The University of Iowa Pentacrest | Iowa City | Iowa | United States

This administration has undermined reproductive rights at every turn — and now they’re trying to limit access to birth control. It’s time to take back our power. This National Condom Week, join Student Advocates for Planned Parenthood for a collaborative art action that creates a space for students to share personal stories about bodily autonomy, including its intersection with birth control and rape culture.

How do I Get Involved?

Find us while we table! We will have ways for you to participate in our public art display during the following tabling hours/locations:
Tuesday, February 13 (10-2) Basement, IMU
Wednesday, February 14 (10-2) Basement, IMU

Volunteers of FORCE and Planned Parenthood Generation Action will make sure your submissions are a part of our final display.

Find a kiosk: We will have a kiosk during the week of the installation at the Women’s Resource and Action Center where you can submit a contribution to our public art display.

Request a volunteer to bring the art to you: we have organization members who can bring the art display materials directly to your campus org meeting or classroom. Please email us at [email protected] to coordinate this.

Many of these stories contain details about sexual violence. As you engage with this project, treat yourself gently and compassionately. Give the emotions that arise attention and respect.
