Día de Muertos (Day of the Dead) is a multi-day
Mexican holiday (Oct 31 – Nov 2) that celebrates
friends and family members who have died.
Traditions include building private altars called
ofrendas; honoring the deceased using calaveras
(edible or decorative skulls), marigolds, and the
favorite foods and beverages of the departed; and
visiting graves with gifts for the deceased.
As part of The Center’s intergenerational program
series, people of all ages are invited to join us
for a celebration of Día de Muertos and Mexican
culture. We will learn a bit more about the
holiday and the traditions connected to it while
enjoying some delicious food, fun games and
activities, and the company of fellow community
members, older and younger.
