ICON, Iowa’s longest running science-fiction and fantasy convention, returns to its birthplace in Iowa City this October 11, 2025.

The $25 membership allows attendees to enjoy a day visiting with attending professional authors, shopping in the vendor hall, talking fandom, participating in Star Wars trivia, singing karaoke, attending room parties, etc.

Happening on Saturday during the Iowa City Book Festival, attendees can also hear John Scalzi reading from The Shattering Peace, his newest book. The reading will immediately be followed by a panel discussion with Hugo award winner Joe Haldeman, his wife Gay Haldeman, and John Scalzi.

Full-day memberships ($25) may be purchased in advance via the website or on Saturday morning at the door.

Evening memberships for trivia, musical event, and karaoke ($10) may be purchased after 4pm on Saturday at the door.
