IDEA BOOST: Digital Art

During these special help hours, patrons can come into the Digital Media Lab for assistance learning how to make digital art or how to work with digital tools to practice traditional art!
The Digital Media Lab regularly offers the Creative Cloud suite of Adobe products such as Photoshop and Illustrator, along with Blender and GIMP available on our Edit Bays and laptops. We also regularly offer Wacom drawing tablets, an iPad with Procreate, a desktop projector for large reference drawings, and a light table for tracing photos and images. We are happy to assist with these products during these hours, as well as during our regular help hours!
Victor works in many areas of digital art from digital painting, digital collage, graphic design, and drawing from digital reference, and he is familiar with using a drawing tablet. Victor can also assist with finding learning-to-draw resources on our shelves, stock photography databases online, and video lessons for art and drawing for patrons who don’t know where to start making art!
Because many learning-to-draw resources require extensive knowledge in digital media, Victor can also assist with specialty things like digitizing sketches, adding digital grids to reference photos, sampling colors from images, editing photos for painting or color pencil, or setting up a media player like VLC for image slideshows and practice timers!
