Fresh off his 2025 debut album “On Your Mark,” Jackson Churchill is bringing the band back together for one night only: February 7 at The James Theater in Iowa City. Several of Jackson’s compositions and bandmates from the record will be featured, including Jon Ailabouni (trumpet), Robert Espe (saxophone and strings), Mike Conrad (piano), and Steven Heffner (bass). They will be joined by Iowa City’s newest gem, Michael D’Angelo, on drums.

Along with their recorded hits, the band will perform several new arrangements that expand on Jackson’s lyrical compositional voice while innovatively maneuvering in and out of the traditional jazz combo genre. A winner of three international trombone competitions in 2024, Jackson is ready to share that he hasn’t lost a step in 2026!
