Join the gang for another month of amazing comedy. This month our headliner is Atlanta’s Stewart Huff!
Stewart Huff was born in Campbellsville, Kentucky and grew up in Knoxville, Tennessee. He has been performing comedy for over 20 years, beginning when he decided to drop out of college to become a writer. Currently touring theatres, comedy clubs and anything in between across the country, Huff reaches past the norm for his genuine — and genuinely unexpected — comedy. His knack for embracing the foibles of humanity and his refreshing originality make him as likeable as he is hilarious. A storyteller at heart, Huff continues to amaze with his clever material and personal wit.
Huff has performed in comedy clubs nationally and internationally, including the Improv in Los Angeles and New York, the Punchline in Atlanta and the Funny Bone in Omaha, as well as countless others.
A finalist in the 2006 Boston Comedy Festival, Huff was also invited to perform in the HBO Las Vegas Festival, where his act can be viewed on pay-per-view. Stewart was also the 2016 Critics Choice of the Best Comedy at the Orlando Fringe Festival.
Featuring Josh Novey! An Iraq War veteran, Josh has used his humor and easy-going stage presence to entertain thousands of people. Josh is a clean comedian, so every time he goes on stage you know the whole family will be able to enjoy. Your mom will love his charm and find him endearing and your dad will think he’s tough because he was in the Army
Sophia Smarandescu, Ames comedy terrorist, leaves a wave of destruction and confused looks wherever she goes. Her comedic style blends real life experiences, chairs, and microwaves. She has appeared in Turnbuckle Comedy & Music and Green Gravel festivals. She co-produces DG’s Taphouse Comedy Showcase in Ames, Iowa, and runs an all-talent open mic.
Dustin Lee (not to be confused with Zakk Wylde, Jesus Christ, Greg Allman, and the folk singer from Minnesota, Dustin Lee) made his debut in 2006 in the blooming Chicago comedy scene and was always willing to do the “tough rooms”. He’s performed at Burger Joints, on milk-crate stages, and even the back of a flat bed semi-trailer. Since graduating on to stages that can’t potentially drive away, he’s been opening for bands in his area as well as being a major staple in the local comedy scene.
With a background in improv and sketch writing (and seen hosting an Open Mic for 10 seconds in the movie “Craigslist Joe”, seriously check it out), “The Man with the Locks of Gold” can combine his well-polished material with riffing and crowd work. Whether he’s expressing his hatred for pop music, his love for Mountain Dew or his personal misadventures; his “Dr. Jeckle and Mr. Hyde” form of joke delivery makes him compatible for both the chaotic crowds waiting to see their band play and the more laid back comedy club setting.
By the time he’s done, you’ll want to by him a beer…err Mountain Dew.
Hadley Galbraith is a native of Kansas now “living” (studying) in Iowa City. She has honed the essential skill of finding beauty in the metaphorical plain states of life through a haphazardly crafted cocktail of silly voices, free association, and dubious attempts at winning hearts and minds. She performs at local open mics in Iowa City and was recently a contestant in 2017 Freshest Comics Contest presented by the Floodwater Comedy Fest.
This month we’ll also have a special guest host Andy O’Brien joining our beloved Daniel Frana. Will there be treats? You’ll have to pay the low cost of $5 to find out. The show starts at 8:00 get there early for good seats!
