Be ready to laugh aloud and explore diverse experiences with Sloane Crosley during this kickoff program of the Local Libraries LIT second season.

Crosley’s bestselling essay collection, I Was Told There’d Be Cake, was described by David Sedaris as, “perfectly, relentlessly funny,” and was a finalist for the Thurber Prize for American Humor. She is widely published in popular media and the author of several bestsellers including, How Did You Get This NumberThe Clasp, and Look Alive Out There. Crosley is working on Cult Classic: A Novel, for publication in June 2022.

There is no fee for this Local Libraries LIT (listen, initiate, talk) program. Reservations are required. Make your reservation at Sloane Crosley / Local Libraries LIT .

Local Libraries LIT is a partnership between every public library in Johnson County, The University of Iowa Libraries, Kirkwood Community College Library, and The Tuesday Agency. The speaker series is designed to fuel actions to grow communities in which everyone thrives. Donations are welcome to support future series programs.
