The name Finkbine is known to most Iowa Citians thanks to the UI golf course. The course was named after the man who donated the land for the course to the University. Who were the Finkbines? The Finkbine family’s influence extended beyonds Iowa City, the State of Iowa to other parts of the United States. The Finkbines left an enduring marks through their philanthropy.

Presented by local historian Tom Schulein, this program is part of ICPL’s 2022 Weber Days, a series of Local History programs and events honoring the memory and work of Iowa City Historian Irving B. Weber.
