When Stu and Sam Mullins formed The Mullins Brothers duo in 2012, it was guided by one principle: play songs they love and that enthusiasm will be contagious. The results are an eclectic set covering four decades of the best of pop-rock: everything from classic songs by The Beatles, Carole King and Steely Dan to modern masterpieces by Wilco, Ben Folds and Fiona Apple.
Stu is the lead vocalist and plays guitar and percussion. He was inducted into the Iowa Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as part of eastern Iowa favorites Dogs On Skis. In 2013, he released his first solo album, “Violet”.
Sam plays keyboards and contributes backing vocals. He is the principal songwriter and keyboardist for Stickman, an original alt-rock band he formed with his brother Stu. Over the last two decades, Stickman released three critically acclaimed albums and was twice selected to perform at the International Pop Overthrow festival based in Los Angeles and Chicago.
