Join University of Iowa Libraries Special Collections & Archives and the Asian Pacific American Cultural Center as we celebrate Asian Pacific American Heritage Month with the public launch of the Asian Alumni & Student Oral History Project.

Oral historian Jin Chang will present on the history of Asian racialization on the University of Iowa campus. Their presentation will be accompanied by oral history listening stations and a pop-up display from Special Collections & Archives featuring historic materials from Asian student organizations on campus.

This event is presented in conjunction with the current Main Library Gallery exhibition, We Are Hawkeyes: Celebrating 175 Years of Student Life at the University of Iowa.

4:00 PM – Presentation by Jin Chang in Shambaugh Auditorium (“No Longer Invisible: Asian and Pacific Islander Students at the University of Iowa”)
4:00 – 6:00 PM (drop-in) – Pop-up display and oral history listening stations available in the Main Library Gallery

This event is free and open to all.
