Panel featuring Adriana Méndez Rodenas, Artemisa Marie Dolores Clark, and Jenna Sauers engaging with Ana Mendieta’s work from varying, while often intersecting, theoretical and methodological standpoints. Rather than solely focusing on her biography, often conflated with interpretations of her work, they will discuss the work itself, the importance of site to her practice, and the politics and cultures that influenced her.

University of Iowa alum Ana Mendieta was a Cuban American performance artist, sculptor, painter and video artist.

Part of the 2016 Witching Hour Festival dedicated to exploring the unknown, creative process, and making new things. ICPL is cosponsoring with presentors Englert Theatre and Little Village Magazine.
