Thanks to everyone who joined us to celebrate the 27th annual Northside Oktoberfest! The fall festival welcomed nearly 4,000 visitors to the Northside for great fun, lots of beer, and neighborhood food. This year, the festival was able to donate over $12,000 to local groups, clubs, and non-profits for their help in making the event a success. We had so much fun watching the new keg toss, stein holding competition, brat-eating contest, and beer games.

SodaFest is the Northside Oktoberfest event for the kids! Bring your family and friends to the Pagliai’s Pizza parking lot this Saturday from 11:00am – 3:00 p.m. for many different fall games, crafts, and more.

The @iachildrensmuseum will once again lead programming with a number of free activities, including pumpkin decorating, creative construction play with the beloved Blue Blocks, inflatables, and balloon animals. The Iowa City Fire Department and @icparksandrec will also be joining with additional activities. Meet Amos Goldbaum - the artist behind the new mur

Meet Amos Goldbaum - the artist behind the new mural in the heart of Downtown Iowa City’s Pedestrian Mall. He is a line-drawer, painter, street peddler, and muralist from San Francisco who attended Grinnell College in Iowa. His work focuses on history and place through his clear and complex linework. Amos' mural pays homage to Iowa City with references to the buildings and objects depicted in the scene. The mural was done in partnership with @graduatehotels and is part of the Iowa City Mural Program, sponsored by @greenstatecu. Come see the work for yourself and snap some photos!

"The room is a living and creative space with a desk, chairs, and many materials for drawing, painting, writing, and making music. The room is a combination of my own home studio and other friends' spaces. The objects in the room are the kind of plants, books, and random objects that we surround ourselves within our homes and workspaces, which are often the same place. The big picture window in the center looks out over an imaginative view of Iowa City, placing the room in this unique location.” - @amosgoldbaum
