Barbara Bernier is a self-taught paper marbler who has been producing marbled paper for over 20 years. What began as a hobby became a small home-based business, and now the papers are found in galleries and shops around Eastern Iowa.
Barbara’a paper is sold as individual sheets or cut into notes and covers for books and journals. Marbling is a one-off process. Paint floats on a water bath and when paper is laid on the surface, the paint is transferred onto the paper. The process and results continue to fascinate this artist.
Barbara will be demonstrating her craft.
