For more than 25 years, Shelter House has created a wonderland of adventure, mystery, and curiosity at the annual Book Sale. Tens of thousands of used books are generously donated by members of the community and sold at low prices during our annual sale to support Shelter Houser’s critical work. This is truly a community fundraiser: many community members donate books, volunteer for, and shop at the Book Sale.

Join us Saturday, March 26 and Sunday, March 27 from 10:30am to 4:00pm at the old Antiqie Car Museum (860 Quarry Road, Coralville).

Shelter House cancelled our 2020 Book Sale in response to the arrival of the COVIDS 19 pandemic in our region. When the 2021 Book Sale came around, we knew we could not hold it in our typical manner; instead, we sold themed books-by-the-bundle. We were thrilled with the community’s support as we worked to find some way to bring the Book Sale to them. This year, we are ecstatic to return to our in-person event! After two years, the anticipation is palpable.
