The University of Iowa Fine Arts Council is proud to present the 2017 Spring Art Exposé accompanied by our Wine & Craft Beer Tasting. This indoor art exhibition and sale is an Iowa City and Coralville community tradition which is historically held at the Iowa Memorial Union. A wide variety of artists showcase their work, ranging from painting, jewelry, photography, and printmaking, to glass, clay, metal, wood, fiber, mixed media, and more. The show gathers artists from throughout the Midwest, and beyond, to display and sell their artwork in a welcoming, warm atmosphere that is free and open to the public.
The free Annual Wine & Craft Beer Tasting has been expanded to include twice as many vendors. The vendors rotate every year, so patrons can discover wineries and breweries from all over the midwest and support some of the area’s most well-kept secrets.
The dates of the Exposé were moved to early April last year to coincide with Mission Creek, a performing arts festival. The festival runs April 4th – 9th, presented by The Englert Theater. The weekend of the Exposé coincides with the final days of the Festival. Organizers hope to bring a literary reading to the IMU, sponsored by Mission Creek. There are also plans to show an art related movie or documentary during Exposé hours, Saturday, in the Iowa Theatre 1st floor IMU.
