$10.00

Dr. Denisha Jones, J.D. will join us as our keynote speaker. She will discuss the power of teaching the truth in Johnson County and beyond.

We selected Johnson County as a historic site as it was named after Dr. Lulu Johnson, the first woman in the state to earn a PhD. Join us as we honor Dr. Johnson and the Black youth graduating from the Ethnic Studies Leadership Academy!

This event is one of the many events taking place across the country in June to honor #teachtruth.

Experience Mi Casa, Your Casa 2.0 in Iowa CityJune 10 - July 10th

The Mi Casa, Your Casa 2.0 red frames, each in the shape of a small house, set alongside one another will be placed in three main areas of the pedestrian mall. Inside each “casa”, there is a swing and a ring of lights lining the bottom. When the house is empty, the lights glow dimly to welcome the next visitor. Once someone steps inside, the lights release a more powerful glow, indicating that someone is home.
