The @cityofiowacity and ICDD have teamed up for an innovative partnership to elevate downtown services. Led by @blockbyblock, an industry expert in urban maintenance and cleanliness, this initiative brings expanded services to ensure a vibrant and welcoming downtown for all.

The “Downtown Iowa City Ambassadors” program comes to life this June. With a focus on public safety and hospitality, our ambassadors will be trained to provide assistance and information while maintaining a welcoming atmosphere for residents, visitors, and businesses alike.

Services include litter and debris removal, power washing, cleaning pedestrian rights of way, graffiti removal, after-hours escorts, and hospitality wayfinding.

Exciting news for the retail scene in Downtown Iowa City! “In the Meantime” is a new pilot program aimed at attracting new retail concepts to downtown.

Opening this April on select days, ICDD has transformed the former White Rabbit space on S Linn St. into a hub for businesses exploring the Iowa City market, hosting special events, and pop-up shops. This initiative not only expands the city’s retail offerings but also supports Dubuque St boutiques impacted by construction with collaborative events.

Join us for the first event on April 24th, featuring a Willow & Stock Spring Floral Bouquet workshop.
