Totally Tweens: Hand-Stitched Constellation Cards for Black History Month
February 11 @ 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Storytime Room
Tweens in grade 3-6, join us to learn about Katherine Johnson, a trailblazing figure in Black history. Johnson was a NASA mathematician whose calculations of orbital mechanics were critical to the success of the first and subsequent U.S. crewed spaceflights. After learning about Johnson’s life through a read-aloud of a celebrated picture book biography, learn how to hand-stitch your own unique constellation card to take home and display, remembering Johnson’s impact on unlocking the mysteries of the sky every time you see it.
