VisAbility Information Session
July 18, 2019 @ 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Join Access 2 Independence from 6:00pm – 7:00pm at The Environmental Education Center to learn about our upcoming VisAbility program and how you can be involved!
We will discuss program commitments, camera policies, creative opportunities, and much more!
What is VisAbility? VisAbility is a program where participants will learn to take photographs around their community that represent their disability experience in and around Iowa City. Throughout the time people are taking photographs and after the photographs are developed, A2I plans to hold both peer and community discussion events to empower participants and bring additional importance to their photographic work. We hope to coordinate a traveling exhibit of the photographs around Iowa City and hold exhibit opening celebrations at each location for community discussion opportunities. From the discussions, we plan to collaborate with local policy professionals to develop Iowa City policy recommendations to continue creating a more equitable community for all abilities!
Please be aware that for this year we will only be accepting residents of Iowa City who are 18 years old and over with any type of disability to be involved in this program.
