Downtown Iowa City Summer Scavenger Hunt

Join the scavenger hunt and help find Rusty the Giant Sloth! The Iowa City Downtown District and Museum of Natural History are excited to announce a new summer scavenger hunt for kids and families to have fun with. Kids have until Friday, August 19th to find him hiding in 29 stores downtown.

Once you have found a hidden Rusty at one of the stores, get a stamp or mark on your card to show proof you found him. Where’s Rusty cards detailing the participating stores he’s hiding in will be available to pick up at the Iowa City Public Library, any of the participating locations, or it can be printed off at home. Look for the sloth stamp next to Rusty to stamp your card.

Turn in your completed cards after finding 10 Rustys to Iowa Book, the Iowa City Public Library, or the Museum of Natural History to receive a small prize and to be entered in the drawing to win a grand prize basket!

Come celebrate the end of a very Rusty summer and snap a photo with Rusty the Giant Sloth in the museum! The Museum of Natural History will be hosting a small party for the Where’s Rusty scavenger hunt! This is the last chance to turn in your completed card and be entered to win a grand prize basket with items donated from participating stores. The grand prize winner will be announced at the end of the event and can take their basket home!
