Job Overview

GoldCap Education is seeking dynamic and creative teachers to join our instructional team. Ideal candidates will have a strong background in teaching and curriculum development paired with a commitment to providing an engaging and fun educational environment.

Instructional team members at GoldCap will design and teach programming for middle-school through junior-high aged students (typically, but not exclusively). Our goal is to provide an enjoyable experience for students that challenges their creativity, resourcefulness, and critical thinking skills.

Why join our team?

We want this to be your #1 side-gig! GoldCap is committed to providing a rewarding and meaningful experience for all of our team members. We offer competitive pay, schedule flexibility, and a fun and autonomous work environment. This is a great chance to explore and expand on your teaching areas of interest with students who love to learn! GoldCap is directed and run by education professionals from the Iowa City area.

GoldCap programming will operate at days and times that Iowa City Schools are not in session. This includes summer, seasonal breaks, no-school days, and some nights and weekends. Instructors will work with the director to find days and times that work for them and are suitable to offer programming to the community. Instructors will work on curriculum at a time that works for them. We will offer a wide range of session times and frequencies, anything from full-day, full-week classes, to one-time half-day classes, to a series of classes within a time frame (each Saturday morning for a month, for example). Contracts are term-based, and have no long-term commitment. Instructors can be hired to teach just one class, or plan to offer programming on a regular basis. Continuation of contracts and re-hires is at the discretion of the director.

GoldCap will offer educational programming that will build on the great educational opportunities students in the Iowa City area receive every day. We aim to offer wide ranging content that will appeal to a diverse range of students, in a fun and engaging learning environment. Our programming will reflect the interests and expertise of our staff, and align with the educational interests and values of the Iowa City community.
