We are looking for someone creative, smart, articulate, warm, has great attention to detail and proactive with outstanding organizational skills to join Nolte Companies as our resident marketing manager and professional assistant.

About Nolte Companies:

Leslie Nolte is a celebrated and seasoned visionary in the realm of performance arts and arts education. Through many avenues, she has enriched the arts community in which she lives. Most notably, Leslie is the founder of The James Theater, a dynamic and accessible performance and event space; a producer and artistic director of many varied productions and ventures from The Nutcracker to Newsies; an award-winning choreographer with numerous professional accolades; an investor in several theatrical productions including the Tony-Winning Broadway musical The Cher Show; an accomplished business leader; and a teacher by trade and heart. Nolte Academy has grown from a one-woman dance studio to a premiere arts program with 25 specialized instructors and more than 1,000 students. Now in its 23rd year, Nolte Academy’s breadth of instruction spans from dance (ballet, contemporary, modern, jazz, tap, acro) to Pilates to visual and theatre arts classes. Nolte Academy students are taught precise technique and have opportunities to share space with professional choreographers, master teachers and numerous guest artists. With a focus on high-quality productions, students also have opportunities to grow and learn on stage. Beyond her studio work, Leslie brings workshop dance instruction to area schools as part of Kennedy Center’s Ensuring the Arts for Any Given Child program, helping to guarantee access and equity to the arts for all students. Leslie has also been a guest lecturer at The University of Iowa Tippie College of Business and was the 2019 recipient of the Larry Eckholt Award recognizing her commitment to Iowa’s Corridor arts and culture community.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute press strategies for all Nolte companies and entities (Leslie Nolte, Nolte Academy, and The James).
  • Write, edit, and distribute press material to local media outlets and serve as a point of contact for media outlets, community organizations and local businesses.
  • Manage the social media accounts and websites of Nolte Academy and The James.
  • Design and implement marketing campaigns for all  business entities.
  • Conduct analysis to determine the effectiveness of each marketing campaign and incorporate your findings into each campaign for better results.
  • Expand the reach of Nolte Companies both locally and regionally/nationally.
  • Continue to facilitate the growth of Iowa City’s reputation as “The Greatest Small City for the Arts.”
  • Attend Nolte Academy, The James Theater, and other related events to take pictures and media for marketing
  • Coordinate and schedule calendar appointments
  • Schedule travel
  • Day-to-day tasks
  • Must be willing to sign an NDA

Qualifications:

  • Current knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel), Google Suites, and design software.
  • Knowledge of all major social media platforms and ability to create effective and engaging social content.
  • Must have strong communications skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to creatively problem solve and prioritize urgent matters.
  • Proven skills of effective marketing campaigns that grow enrollment.
  • Must be a creative thinker and invested in the importance of the arts and arts education.

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

  • Current media contacts in dance/music/performing arts areas.
  • Knowledge of dance and the performing arts.

Hours and Pay:

Start Date: November 2022
Hours: Flexible scheduling
Salary: $32,500 + health and 401K benefit options; sick and vacation days package negotiated upon hire
Receive partial credit towards Nolte academy classes for immediate family members.
