In the Iowa City Downtown District there is a lot to take in! In this dense, walkable and vibrant area, one may not know where to start! Luckily, we at the Iowa City Downtown District have developed our initial offering of tours! These tours have different levels of engagement: Self Guided, Guided and Private Groups. Read more below.
Self Guided Tours
These self-guided tours are available at any time to be done at your own pace. All you need is a mobile device. The tour button will launch a Google map showing each stop documented with photos and information. One can take as much or as little time at each point of interest, decide your own route, and make additional stops along the way.
Guided Tours
Downtown guided tours are socialized experiences created and led by the Iowa City Downtown District. These itineraries are meant to be enjoyed with friends old and new while combining the elements Downtown Iowa City is known for: the arts, literature, food, beverage, and of course, walkability!
Private Group Tours
Are you visiting Iowa City for a group get-together of 25 people or more and are looking for a unique group experience for a conference or event? Perhaps a private guided tour of Downtown Iowa City Alley Murals and the Iowa City Literature Walk or maybe a progressive dinner itinerary is more your speed?
