David Lynch Remembered: Blue Velvet

February 12 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

$8 – $13

David Lynch was a singular artist who never compromised his unique vision and inspired generations of artists across media—an artist whose name created a genre. His sudden passing left the cinematic world in shock. Throughout the years, we have often showcased his body of work and will continue to feature it for new generations to appreciate. In this brief tribute to the legendary filmmaker, we’re highlighting two of his most famous films and one that we have never screened. Join us in celebrating a director that The Atlantic called, “perhaps the most consequential American art filmmaker in the history of the medium.”

There’s something going on behind the white picket fences of Lumberton, North Carolina. And after stumbling upon a severed human ear in a field, mystery-loving college student Jeffrey Beaumont (Kyle Maclachlan) is determined to find out what. Teaming up with the daughter of a local police detective (Laura Dern), Jeffrey’s investigation leads him into a strange world of sensuality and violence, with the intrigue of the missing ear seemingly stemming from the relationship between a troubled nightclub singer (Isabella Rossellini) and a sociopathic sadomasochist (Dennis Hopper).
