Pesticides, Cancer, and The Future of Public Health

Join us for a conversation with Dr. Charles Benbrook, a renowned expert on agricultural systems and their impact on health and the environment.
Cancer rates are on the rise in Iowa, and every year half of our state is bathed in pesticides containing the controversial chemical glyphosate. Meanwhile, the Iowa state legislature is considering a bill – the Cancer Gag Act – that would grant multi-billion-dollar corporations legal immunity from any lawsuits alleging their pesticides cause cancer.
Dr. Benbrook will discuss the potential ramifications of the Cancer Gag Act, new research on the links between exposure to Roundup and other glyphosate-based herbicides and blood cancer risks, and the connection between soil health and public health.
With decades of experience and a wealth of knowledge, Dr. Benbrook promises a lecture that will be thought-provoking, informative, and relevant to rural and urban residents alike.
