7th Annual Downtown Block Party on June 22nd to Feature Pro Wrestling, Drag Show, Public Art Installation, Mini Golf, & More
(Iowa City, IA) – May 22, 2024 – The Iowa City Downtown District is thrilled to announce the return of the 7th Annual Downtown Block Party, scheduled for Saturday, June 22nd. Continuing with its tradition in celebrating Downtown Iowa City’s existing nighttime economy, this event will be a highlight of downtown summer programming and fun for the whole family. This signature event entertains with 14 blocks of free programming, offering the community a unique opportunity to come together and celebrate summer in the heart of Iowa City.
The Downtown Block Party has become a staple of Iowa City’s summer calendar, drawing residents and visitors alike to enjoy an evening filled with fun and excitement. This year’s event will feature a variety of activities and entertainment suitable for all ages from 4:00 – 11:00 p.m. From live music to participatory art, recreational games, and interactive activities, there will be something for everyone. Downtown bars and restaurants will feature special offers with food and drink specials.

It’s always fun to bring back crowd favorites like the Silent Disco, but to also add a few new surprises on that map. The new power bungee trampoline, public art installation, and light-up mini golf course are sure to get attendees excited.”

All programming at the Downtown Block Party is free and open to the public. A ticket to the event is only required if you plan on consuming alcohol. In keeping with tradition, the ticket for the event will be a 2024 Downtown Block Party cup and wristband. Only those with the official event cup and wristband will be allowed to consume wine and beer with the Block Party cup on the streets of downtown. Event cups and wristbands are available now to pre-purchase online for only $10. Tickets will increase to $15 the day of the event and will be available to purchase at any of the cup stations throughout the event.
