Tea leaves are oxidized by being exposed to the air, and different oxidation levels produce varied aromas and flavors. Oolong tea, sometimes referred to as “wulong,” is a celebrated style of tea with great diversity and complexity. Unlike black tea which is fully oxidized, oolong tea may be 12-80% oxidized, resulting in unique flavor profiles from floral or fruity to deep chocolate or roasted nuts. Join this class to discover the range of aromas and flavors of five premium oolong teas from China and Taiwan. Fee: $20 (includes samples of 5 teas); pay instructor. Tea samples can be picked up at the Senior Center.
