Taylor Bradley
June 17 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Poet/playwright/photographer Taylor Bradley will read from her memoir, No Place Like House. “My world was ending. It was 2018 and all of California was on fire.” During the next two years, Taylor spent her days searching for a soft place to rest her head at night, sleeping mostly in cars, hotels, and other people’s houses. She made her way across the country three times, and even found herself in London for a bit. There’s No Place Like House is a true story of an adventure across America, navigating the unusual dating landscape of Los Angeles, getting caught up in the European underbelly of New Orleans, and finding respite within the dusty artists dwellings in New England, all while trying to make it to New York City in the midst of a global pandemic.
Taylor Bradley graduated from the University of Iowa in 2013. Since moving back to Los Angeles, she has released two collections of poetry: Side Effects and Withdrawals. Taylor has written and produced multiple plays with West Coast premieres, including, A Dead Rabbit, One by One, When the Lights Go Out, and 1976: A Motel. Her next book, Los Angeles: A Eulogy is forthcoming in 2024/2025. She currently lives in Los Angeles.
