The Beaker Brothers: Light, Love, & Life: The Music of Santana
The Beaker Brothers: Light, Love, & Life: The Music of Santana
November 16 @ 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm
$10 – $25For over 17 years the Beaker Brothers Band has been paying homage to the original Jam Bands of the late 60’s and early 70’s – the Allman Brothers, Clapton, Santana, Little Feat, Rolling Stones, James Gang, the Doors, Steely Dan, Neil Young, CCR, and many more. But the Beaker Brothers Band isn’t a nostalgia act. We’re playing music that has been in our heads and our hearts since we first heard it. This is the music we played in our youth – our roots if you will.
Two years ago, we paid tribute to the Allman Brothers Band, last year Eric Clapton. This year we salute yet another monumental figure in our musical lives – Santana. From the moment Soul Sacrifice hit the big screen in the Woodstock movie, rock music was changed. Rhythm became a focal point, Latin rhythms became commonplace, and percussionists a fixture on many rock stages. The members of the Beaker Brothers have long histories playing (and in 1 case, teaching) Latin music and on this special evening that experience will be on full display. In our view, Carlos Santana is a singular influence in the history of rock music – and we’re excited to pay tribute to his impact on our own musical lives and careers.
