Each year in July, the sidewalks are filled with tables and tents for Downtown Iowa City’s Annual Sidewalk Sales, a tradition that began in 1968. This weekend, July 18-21, over 30 shops will be putting out their merchandise on deep discount for the annual event.

Shoppers come to experience the weekend savings summer extravaganza, which begins on a Thursday and runs through the evening on Sunday. “This weekend, shops are cleaning out their inventories looking to free up space for fall inventory. Sidewalk Sales has always been a festive environment with attendees coming from all over Iowa City, and the area to take part in visiting their favorite stores and most likely discovering new ones”, said Director of Operations, Betsy Potter.

The entire list of participants and their sales are available via the map.
