About the Series
FilmScene in the Park is an outdoor cinema built in partnership with the Iowa City Parks and Recreation Department located at Chauncey Swan Park. Regular Screenings between May and October highlight a diversity of all ages programming.
FilmScene in the Park is presented by Dr. Suzanne Stock, Orthodontist, and serves the goals of both FilmScene and Iowa City Parks & Recreation by providing free cultural activities to thousands of citizens annually. Our park cinema was made possible in 2021 by the transformative Strengthen Grow Evolve campaign, a collaboration with The Englert Theatre, and The City of Iowa City’s Annual Park Improvement and Economic Development funds.
