Regional Director Joseph Palm of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services will be at the Iowa City Senior Center on April 21 to discuss new Medicare benefits that will lower drug prices, make all recommended vaccines free for Medicare beneficiaries and cap the monthly price of insulin at just $35 a month.
Palm, who oversees HHS operations in Iowa, Kanas, Missouri, & Nebraska, will talk about five new policies in the Inflation Reduction Act that specifically benefit seniors. The law also phases in a $2,000-a-year cap on the out-of-pocket cost of Medicare Part D prescription drugs beginning next year. Seniors and their caregivers will want to hear about these new Medicare benefits.
