Prairie Lights

Join us with Iowa City native Lori Lacina, who will read from her third book, Just One More Thing.  These stories are filled with laughter, encouragement, humor reflections, misadventures, and much more. She reminds us to celebrate the small moments and to find the simple joy in everyday life.

Lori Lacina is a proud alumni of Iowa City High School and the University of Iowa.  She graduated from Iowa with a degree in business and communications, after which she enjoyed a successful 27 year career in banking, retiring as a Vice-President.  She was alsoan adjunct professor at Kirkwood Community College and taught for the Iowa Bankers Association. A long time Girl Scout volunteer, she has volunteered for many other local not-for-profit agencies in the community and has spent 15 years of her “retirement”  as a guest teacher at an elementary school.  She has been writing her entire life, and also enjoys reading, quilting, and time with her family, traveling with her very significant other, Verne. She feels very blessed to have 3 step-children and 6 grandchildren, treasured gifts from her late husband.
