Join Us This February 11th From 4pm To 5:30 At Englert Theater In Iowa City As We Ring In The Year Of The Dragon. 2024 Lunar New Year is a celebration of the arrival of spring and the beginning of a dragon year. Hosted by the Asian Pacific Islander American Public Affairs Association, Eastern Iowa Chapter, the celebration features cultural performances of different Asian countries by professional artists and musicians. The preface will be lion and dragon dance to signify the dragon year. There are performances of professional tenor singing Malaysia songs, a soprano singing Tibet scenery, joint singing with mezzo-soprano. We are also honored to have invited several excellent exotic folk dance solo dancers such as dancing lotus genie, Ukraine Chia Chia expert to present the different style of dances in addition to modern K-pop dance. Themes range from the various legends of dragon descendants to the symbol of Jasmine flower, from the appreciation of beautiful scenery to the cherish of current life.
