T’ai Chi is an ancient Chinese exercise that combines relaxed, fluid movement with a calm, alert mental state. Often referred to as moving meditation, it builds endurance and enhances flexibility, balance, and coordination. T’ai Chi evolved from martial arts to a practice for cultivating health, energy, and concentration. New students will learn and practice the fundamental movements and principles of the 37 posture Yang style form. Emphasis will be on developing ease and comfort in movements that transfer to better, more efficient movement in day-to-day activities. This 6-week session can be repeated 2 or 3 times with the opportunity to move to a more advanced level class. Fee: $50/month; pay instructor. Membership required.
