Urika’s Bedroom is the musical project of Los Angeles-based artist Tchad Cousins, known for blending electronic, hip-hop, and indie influences into a hazy, post-club atmosphere. Since relocating to Los Angeles in 2018, Cousins has been involved in various genre-fluid bands, leading to collaborations with artists like untitled (halo) and Ded Hyatt. In 2023, Urika’s Bedroom released the debut single “Junkie,” described as a “glowing, tender debut” by Gorilla vs. Bear. This track marked a significant step in Cousins’ solo career, showcasing his production skills. On November 1, 2024, Urika’s Bedroom released the debut album Big Smile, Black Mire via True Panther/Virgin. The album blends shoegaze, early ’90s emo, and electronica, reflecting Cousins’ diverse musical influences. Throughout 2024, they have been active on the live circuit, supporting artists like Youth Lagoon and touring with Nourished by Time.
