The Iowa City Downtown District, in collaboration with Dubuque Street businesses, the City of Iowa City, and Portzen Construction, is excited to host the Back to Dubuque Street Celebration on Thursday, October 24th! Join us for a community block party to celebrate the progress of the Dubuque Street Reconstruction Project and show appreciation for the local businesses that have navigated months of construction.

Dubuque Street will be closed to vehicular traffic all day, allowing for additional outdoor seating, dining, shopping, and fun programming! Order food to-go anytime during the day from the block’s restaurants and enjoy dining outside on the street. From 4:00 – 8:00 p.m., the restaurants will be setting up outside on their patios serving special items and drinks for the evening’s free entertainment. Enjoy live music with local bands, BINGO with Micky’s to win great prizes, and food and drink specials from your favorite local spots on the block. Retailers will be set up on the street for some all-day shopping fun!

It’s the perfect opportunity to come together, enjoy the newly revitalized street, and support the businesses that have shown incredible resilience throughout the project. Grab food to-go, relax in the extra seating areas, and explore what Dubuque Street has to offer.
