Book to Art Club is the fourth Tuesday of every month for school age children. Each month we will read a picture book and create custom art inspired by the story!

This week is Banned Books Week, where we celebrate the freedom to read and recognize current and historical attempts to censor books in libraries and schools.

Todd Parr is a beloved picture book author and illustrator who has several books that have been banned or challenged, including “The Family Book,” which showcases families of all kinds, as well as “Be Who You Are,” which celebrates everything that makes us all unique and special! After reading and discussing, we will create portraits in the style of Todd Parr’s art, using paint, oil pastels and collage techniques!
