Kids are invited to celebrate Black History Month with Dana, this year’s artist of Iowa City’s Black History Month poster celebrating Afrofuturism, to create and paint titles. This one hour long workshop will introduce kids and families to Afrofuturism and work to create their own beautiful piece of art.

Dana is a choreographer, artist, and recent graduate of the University of Iowa. She has officially practiced visual and performing arts since 2021, but has been involved in the arts since she was little. Her work has been featured around the Midwest, and you can find her on Instagram @spontaneous_515 (dance and fashion) and @gooseguild (visual art).
