“Minneapolis sensations Maria and the Coins bring their 2000’s nostalgia pop sound to Iowa City”

Minneapolis based indie pop band Maria and the Coins are headed to Iowa City to play at Gabe’s on Tuesday September 26th, 2023 during their fall tour. They’ll be joined by Iowa locals Allegra Hernandez and Salt Fox. The band made their Iowa debut earlier this year and are back to debut new songs currently being worked on in the studio. 

In the last year, Maria and the Coins have opened for Christina Perri, Hayley Reinhart and JP Saxe in addition to touring in the midwest. Their 2020 album ‘Forward’ gained traction with local and national outlets like American Songwriter, Indie Spoonful, and Please Pass the Indie with the lead single “Movin’ On” receiving national and international radio play.  Their fall tour will also include stops in Chicago, IL and Winona, MN.
