Totally Tweens: School’s Out Special: Star Stitching

March 11 @ 3:30 pm - 4:30 pm

Monday, March 11, 2024 –3:30pm to 4:30pm

Storytime Room

Join us to hear a read-aloud of the book “She Stitched the Stars: A Story of Ellen Harding Baker’s Solar System Quilt” and create our own hand-stitched constellation cards.

Ellen, an Iowa storekeeper’s wife and a mother, had a curiosity that reached far beyond the stratosphere. Today, Baker’s quilt replica of the solar system hangs in the Smithsonian’s National Museum of American History.

This program is for children in grades 3-6.

If you need disability-related accommodations in order to participate in this event, please contact the Library.

This event is open to the public.
