As the vaccination rate among the community increases, Downtown continues to open up and offer a safe environment for visitors and employees. Many businesses have re-opened their doors and adjusted their hours so patrons can once again enjoy the vibrant atmosphere downtown. In partnership with the City of Iowa City, the Iowa City Downtown District has continued to add additional outdoor seating for the summer. We encourage people to come to visit downtown, grab a bite to eat, shop around, and sit outside. The picnic tables are in the process of getting a fresh new coat of paint in addition to GreenState Credit Union’s Benchmark and Mural programs that will bring new local art to downtown.

The 2021 summer calendar is starting to fill up! See a summer schedule of events below.

Have an event happening downtown? Submit it here to be featured on the Iowa City Downtown District website.

Local leaders from Project Better Together hosted a webinar today to discuss the past year and have a conversation with insights, reflection, and visioning of what’s to come. If you missed the webinar, you can view the recorded session here.
